Susan Heider


Susan Heider brings over 25 years of experience in benefits/human resource management with specific expertise in self-funded health and disability plans and executive compensation programs. Her Human Resources career path spans healthcare, pharmaceutical, manufacturing, construction, and hospitality companies.


Experience:


  • Licensed broker with life and health appointments in five states.
  • Expertise in benefits includes, but is not limited to plan design, negotiating and employee contributions, ERISA compliance and DOL audits, and the development of the annual benefits budget.
  • Expertise in the components of compensation including design, market pricing, executive compensation, long and short term incentive plans, and equity based compensation programs.
  • As a senior consultant with Mercer Health and Benefits she was responsible for managing a block of business with annual budgeted revenue of $600,000.
  • Overall account leadership and responsibility for development of Request For Proposals (RFPs) for all lines of coverage including proposal development, contract negotiation, implementation and setup, post implementation account management and renewal strategy.
  • As the Vice President and North Carolina Human Resource Practice Leader with Marsh Employee Benefits successfully serviced and maintained assigned book of business of $800,000.
  • Established the human resource practice for small to mid-sized clients to include:
    • Audit and development of HR function.
    • Creation, revision, and maintenance of personnel policies and procedures.
    • Interviewing of individual supervisors and/or managers regarding their personnel procedures with a resulting summary report to management that can be utilized as an aid in determining company wide personnel policy development.


Susan is a member of the World-at-Work Society of Certified Professionals and has attained certifications in Compensation (CCP) and Benefits (CBP) and is also a member of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM).
